Early life & the David Brent campaign[full article]

In 2014, fresh out of the University of Sussex, Bower applied for more than 100 jobs without success. Rather than sending another CV, he filmed a parody job application in character as David Brent from The Office. The video was shared by Ricky Gervais and covered by national and trade press, becoming his first widely recognised viral campaign.[3]

The publicity led to a job at VCCP, one of London's leading advertising agencies. Despite applying as a creative, Bower was placed in the accounts department. After a month of commuting to London and realising agency life wasn't for him, he left to work independently, beginning several years of freelance viral marketing.
